SCDF NSF dies after being found unconscious at Marina Bay Fire Station


PUBLISHED ONSeptember 06, 2026 7:17 AMUPDATEDSeptember 06, 2026 11:41 AMBYSean LerA 20-year-old Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) full-time national serviceman (NSF) died after he was found unconscious at the training yard of Marina Bay Fire Station on Sunday (Sept 6) morning at about 8.10am.
SCDF said in a statement on Sunday afternoon that the deceased, Lance Corporal (LCP) Muhammad Nur Ilham Mohammed Iswadi, was on duty at the time of incident.
Personnel at the fire station immediately administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (SCDF) and took the 20-year-old to Singapore General Hospital, where he later died, SCDF added.
According to SCDF, LCP Ilham enlisted on Feb 10 this year and completed his firefighter training on August 7. He was then posted to Marina Bay Fire Station on August 18.
In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police stated that the full-time national serviceman was taken unconscious to the hospital.
They added that no foul place is suspected based on preliminary investigations.
Police investigations are ongoing.
A SCDF spokesperson said SCDF is saddened by the NSF's passing and extended its condolences to the family.
The spokesperson added that the necessary assistance and support are being provided to LCP Ilham's family.
