PUBLISHED ONAugust 14, 2026 11:53 AMBYSean LerA 66-year-old man was arrested on Friday (Aug 14) for allegedly stealing a motorcycle parked in Geylang.
Police said on Friday evening that they were alerted to the a case of motorcycle theft along Lorong 30 Geylang at about 11.20pm on Thursday.
Officers from Bedok Police Division identified the man through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from police cameras and closed-circuit television (CCTV).
He was arrested within six hours of the report being lodged and the stolen motorcycle was recovered.
The man will be charged in court on Saturday with the offence of theft of a motor vehicle.
If found guilty of the said offence, he could be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
The police also advised motorcycle owners not to leave their spare keys or transponders inside any compartments of their motorcycles.
They should also remove the ignition key and lock their motorcycles whenever they are left unattended.
