Nearly 40 years after sitting for his own A-level examinations, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung found himself back in exam mode.

Ong, who is MP for Sembawang GRC, tried his hand at solving questions from H2 Mathematics, Physics and Economics papers in a video posted on social media on Sunday (Oct 18).

The last time he attempted an A-level Mathematics question was at his own A-level exam "40 years ago", he quipped to the two students featured in the video.

The questions, however, appeared to pose little challenge for the minister, who answered them correctly.

So, would Ong sit for the A-levels again?

"No! Why would I do that?" he replied.

As the video drew to a close, Ong offered words of encouragement to all A-level students preparing for their upcoming papers.

"I wish you all the best... I hope it will all be smooth sailing," he said.
