A 45-year-old mother has stunned netizens with her youthful appearance after posting  a video about attending her son's National Service ceremony on social media.

Some even commented that they look like siblings.

Claudia Seah posted an Instagram video about her 18-year-old son's passing out parade on Oct 20.

In the video, the mother of three said how she was grateful to see her eldest son become "more respectful" and "considerate" of others since completing his Basic Military Training.

She concluded the video saying: "I'm so proud of my son."

'Too young to be his mum'

But netizens were more interested in her youthful looks than the passing out parade.

Seah's video has amassed over 101,000 views on Instagram as at Thursday afternoon, with nearly 2,300 likes and almost 100 comments.

Several netizens expressed their surprise at learning that she has an 18-year-old son.

"What...You look so young and [your] son [is] already so big!" wrote one user, to which Seah replied that she had him at 27.

Others added that she looked young enough to be his sister.

"Honestly, you look too young to be his mum. Should be his elder sister," commented another user, alongside several similar comments.

Seah has thanked the commenters on her video as she told 8days.sg that she is no stranger to such reactions to her youthful appearance.

"I get these comments regularly, especially now that Hayden's getting older," said Seah, adding that she is appreciative of the compliments.

The co-founder of a permanent make-up beauty business in Bangkok said: "People normally get shocked when they know I'm his mother, and people can't believe I have a grown-up son like Hayden."

She also said how her son is proud of his mother's ageless appearance.

"His school teachers tell me that Hayden compliments me in school and says I'm pretty," said Seah.

Hayden currently lives with his grandparents in Singapore, while the rest of his family, including his parents and two siblings, live in Thailand.

Seah also told 8days.sg that she and her Thai husband relocated to Bangkok when Hayden was nine-years-old.

Since Hayden was born in Singapore, he had to return to serve National Service.

AsiaOne has reached out to Seah for more information.
