Mum spends an hour driving 'like an idiot' searching for son's lost wallet, fails to recover it: 'AirTag is really not that great'

A mother drove across Singapore for an hour tracking her son's lost wallet with an Apple AirTag, only to give up after repeatedly missing its reported location.
In a TikTok video posted on Thursday (Oct 15), user 44catt said her son had left his wallet on a bus during a school excursion.
She followed the AirTag's updates from Canberra to Yishun, Admiralty and Woodlands, but its location kept changing whenever she got close.
"Every time we are near, it moved again," she said, later lamenting that "AirTag is really not that great".
After an hour of searching, she said she had been driving around "like an idiot" before calling it quits: "I give up already. I'm going to go home. Mission failed."
Catt, 32, a tattoo artist, told MS News that she searched for the wallet on Oct 14 between 8pm and 9pm.
However, Catt later shared in a separate TikTok update on Saturday that she had managed to track down the bus, and her son found the wallet under one of its seats.
Some TikTok users praised the mother's persistence, with one commenting: "Wow you really got great determination, worth a praise."
Others offered tips and explained that AirTags rely on nearby Apple devices with Bluetooth enabled to relay their location, meaning updates may be limited when fewer such devices are around.
Another user suggested putting a contact number inside the wallet in case it gets lost.
AsiaOne has reached out to Catt for more information.
