'Singapore efficiency is real': Man retrieves woman's AirPod from drain, gets Krispy Kreme treat

A man came to a woman's rescue when she accidentally dropped her AirPod into a drain.

The incident was shared on TikTok by user i.tgal_insg on Wednesday (Sept 9), and the video has garnered more than 52,500 views as at Friday afternoon.

In the caption, the woman said she had accidentally dropped her AirPod down a drain and was initially worried about the cost of replacing it.

"Singapore efficiency is real," she wrote.

According to her, she made a call before a man named Ronie, who was wearing a Jurong-Clementi-Bukit Batok Town Council shirt, arrived to help retrieve the lost AirPod. It is not clear where she made the call to.

The entire process took less than five minutes, she said.

In the video, Ronie is seen in the drain, and retrieving the AirPod and passing it back to her.

The woman said his help potentially saved her around $100, referring to the cost of replacing the device.

She added that she did not have any cash on her and tried to offer him a PayNow transfer as a token of appreciation.

However, he reportedly refused to give her his PayNow details.

Instead, she gave him her box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts as a gesture of goodwill.

The post was captioned simply: "grateful to be here".
