The visit is at the invitation of Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Saturday.
This is the Macao Chief Executive's first official visit to Singapore since he took office on December 20, 2024.
During his visit, Chief Executive Sam will call on Prime Minister Wong and attend a breakfast hosted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, as well as a lunch hosted by Coordinating Minister for Social Policies and Minister for Health Ong Ye Kung.
In a press release issued by the special administrative region on Friday, the Macao Government Information Bureau said the chief executive's visit is aimed at strengthening Macao's ties with Southeast Asian countries.
This includes promoting practical cooperation across multiple sectors, it added.
"In Singapore, the Chief Executive will study best practices in relation to industrial parks, tourism development, urban renewal, and the Housing and Development Board’s public housing programme, with a view to gaining valuable insights for Macao’s ongoing development projects.
"Chief Executive Sam will also deliver a speech at the National University of Singapore," the bureau said.
After Singapore, Chief Executive Sam will visit Indonesia and Malaysia.
He is accompanied by his wife, Wong Ho Peng, Secretary for Economy and Finance Ng Wai Han, and senior officials from the Macao Special Administrative Region administration.
