An angry lorry passenger allegedly hit the driver of a Singapore-registered car on Jalan Sutera in Johor Bahru, on Saturday (Oct 17) for cutting in front of him with a U-turn.

A video of this confrontation was uploaded to the SG Road Vigilante Facebook page the same evening and has since garnered over 490,000 views and more than 500 reactions as at Monday (Oct 19) afternoon.

In the video, a Singapore-registered car can be seen cutting across an opposite lane of traffic, making a U-turn in front of a red lorry.

The lorry's passenger then opens his door in an attempt to confront the driver, but decides against it.

Instead, he tosses a bottlecap-like object at the car, which bounces off the vehicle's rear and rolls out of the road.

In response, the driver cuts into the lorry's lane briefly and stops.

This is the last straw for the lorry passenger, who flings open his door — simultaneously, the driver-side door of the Singapore-registered car also opens, but quickly closes as the passenger rushes over.

The passenger then appears to deliver two haymakers towards the interior of the car before the driver is able to wind up the window.

Enraged, the lorry passenger continues to pound at the door before slapping the sideview mirror of the car, breaking it.

He then briefly walks away before returning and hitting the vehicle once more with his fist.

The passenger then gets back in the lorry, which is driven away.

Many users commented on the confrontation between the two, highlighting the mistakes made by the Singapore driver.

"In Malaysia you wind down window, put your hand out. Most of the time they give way or help you. Be courteous and respectful," chided one user.

Others claimed that U-turning on that road is illegal, citing how narrow it is, as well as the presence of a double line.

"That's the last time that car is entering JB!" a user joked.

Some, however, pointed out that it was ultimately the passenger who resorted to violence.

"No matter what, the lorry passenger will be arrested," said one.
