He said SMMWU was informed of this retrenchment exercise in advance and has been working with the company to ensure affected employees receive a fair severance package and fair treatment from IHH Healthcare.
Tay has also been working with IHH Healthcare to provide workers through career guidance, CV help, outplacement and emotional support.
"Yesterday was not the last day for the affected workers and they will be given time and outplacement support as they undergo this transition which will complete early next year," he said.
Affected workers will also be able to apply for available roles with IHH if they are suited for them, or join other local healthcare-related institutions who may want to hire.
