The haze situation has improved with the onset of inter-monsoon conditions and more showers, in turn, has reduced the risk of transboundary haze, said the National Environment Agency (NEA).

On Thursday (Nov 5), it announced that it will end its daily update on Nov 7, with most haze mitigation measures to also end on the same day.

The agency has been issuing daily updates since Sept 4, when Singapore's 24-hour Pollutant Standards Index (PSI) entered the unhealthy range for the first time since Oct 8, 2023.

"As the risk of transboundary haze is expected to be low, Government agencies will be ceasing haze mitigation measures. The inter-agency Haze Task Force will also be stood down," NEA said.

This means that daily haze situation updates in the evenings, N95 haze mask distribution, and haze-related measures for outdoor workers will end on Nov 7. Haze shelters will also be closed.

Specific to haze mask distribution and haze shelters, these measure will end at 6pm.

Meanwhile, the haze subsidy scheme and public health preparedness clinic scheme (PHPC) will be stood down from Nov 12.

Haze situation forecast till Sunday

NEA said showers and variable winds are forecast over Singapore and the surrounding region for Friday and the weekend.

This should keep the haze situation suppressed.

The PSI forecast for Friday is expected to be between 51 to 80 — in the moderate range.

At 7pm, hourly PM2.5 is in the normal band, with the highest reading of 17 recorded in northern Singapore.

Meanwhile, PSI is between 56 and 64.
