PUBLISHED ONAugust 31, 2026 4:07 AMBYSean LerRide-hailing company Gojek and homegrown transport giant ComfortDelGro on Monday (Aug 31) announced an expanded partnership that will see taxi commuters benefit from shorter waiting time.
Under their expanded partnership, GoTaxi bookings can now be matched and fulfilled by taxis on ComfortDelGro's (CDG) Zig network — the city state's largest metered taxi fleet.
"(This means) shorter waits for riders and access to a broader pool of booking demand for drivers," GoJek and CDG said in a joint statement.
Since launching its GoTaxi service in May 2021, Gojek said it has observed "strong demand" from users who value the convenience of booking a taxi through the app, while enjoying meter-based taxi fares.
"By expanding our partnership with Zig, we are giving users access to Singapore’s largest and fastest-matching licensed taxi network and enhancing the overall booking experience for commuters," said Gojek Singapore's general manager Janine Teo.
Commenting on the partnership, CDG Zig's head of rental Yee Hon Wai highlighted that the scale and reach of CDG's taxi fleet allows it to support more metered fare ride requests, while connecting its drivers to a broader range of booking demands.
"This expanded partnership creates more opportunities for our taxi drivers to secure bookings, helping to support sustainable earnings while continuing to meet commuter preferences," Yee added.
There is no change to the user journey for commuters.
"GoTaxi and Zig taxi rides continue to be charged according to the taxi meter, with standard platform and payment transaction fees applying," the two companies added.
