Bukit Panjang 4-vehicle accident: Van driver arrested for driving under drug influence


PUBLISHED ONAugust 16, 2026 2:00 AMBYSean LerA 27-year-old male van driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs after a four-vehicle accident in Bukit Panjang on Friday (Aug 14) night.
The incident happened at about 8.55pm along Bukit Panjang Road towards Bukit Panjang Ring Road.

Visuals of the incident circulating on social media show a motorcycle sandwiched between a van and a red saloon car.
The van is seen stopped in a position against the flow of traffic.
Further back, another saloon car is seen stopped behind the three motor vehicles.

Responding to AsiaOne's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force stated that two persons sustained minor injuries and were assessed by paramedics, but declined to be taken to hospital.
The police added that the van driver was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs.
Two vaporisers and three pods found in his van were seized and referred to the Health Sciences Authority for follow-up.
Police investigations are ongoing.
