After a couple of boys stole from their shop, Snooze Store called them out in a now-deleted Instagram post on Monday (Oct 12).

Since then, the family of the two boys have approached the store and acknowledged their children's actions, the retailer said in an update on Tuesday.

In the deleted video, the boys can be seen fiddling with toys near the store entrance, before one of them puts a toy into his bag. He later repeats this action a second time.

They continue to look around a bit longer, before the second boy surreptitiously pulls another toy from the rack and slips it into his own bag before the pair leave the shop and exit the security camera's frame.

"We have taken down the video as the family of the boys have stepped forward and acknowledged their actions," Snooze Store stated.

However, the store also claimed that one of the boys had stolen from it on "multiple occasions", not just during the incident shown in the now-deleted video.

"We hope everyone understands the seriousness of this matter and why we cannot take it lightly," the store continued.

The post explained that every item matters to them as a small business, and that it is "disheartening" for their work to be taken advantage of.

Furthermore, the valuable time and resources spent trying to catch shoplifters are also a drain on them.

"To anyone thinking of stealing from our store, your actions have consequences. If you're not prepared to face them, don't do it," the store warned.

AsiaOne has contacted Snooze Store for more information.
