User Aqilahmaria_ shared her harrowing experience on Threads the following day in a viral post that has since garnered over two million views, more than 19,700 likes and 30,100 shares as at Monday (Aug 31).
"I swear I'm traumatised," the diner, also known as Maria, wrote in her post.
"I was hungry, but I saw this. Always check your food before eating, guys."
In a video uploaded with the post, Maria shows a spread of raw food, served in black platters.
She then zooms into the corner of a chipped platter of marinated raw meat, where some cockroaches can be seen.
One of them is seen crawling out of the platter as the video ends.
In response to the incident, Lim Jung-min, manager of Dong Nae BBQ, offered his "deepest and most sincere apologies" for the "unacceptable hygiene standards".
"We completely understand your disappointment and concern, and we take full responsibility for this lapse," he said.
To address this issue, Dong Nae BBQ was immediately closed for deep cleaning and full sanitisation of the premises with professional pest control services.
"To hopefully regain your trust, we will rebuild and we come back stronger," he stated.

Responding to Maria's post, MyTown said: "We take the issue of cleanliness and food safety in the premises very seriously.
"We will continue to monitor this matter carefully to ensure that cleanliness standards are always maintained for the comfort and safety of all visitors."
Kuala Lumpur City Hall's department of health and environment also inspected the restaurant's premises, the authority said in a Threads post on Aug 27.
More cockroaches were found, including on the handle of a bottle of cooking oil, as well as within the doorframe of a refrigeration unit.
The restaurant has been closed from Aug 26 until Sept 9 for all health requirements to be complied with, according to a notice placed at the restaurant's door.
