Malaysian woman’s parcel gets stolen by monkey soon after delivery, rider sends video as proof

A Malaysian woman's parcel was stolen by a monkey soon after it was delivered.

Sofia Yannie Shaza Shaeidin posted about the incident on Threads on Saturday (Aug 8), attaching a screenshot of her conversation with the delivery rider who explained what had happened.

The rider said he had already placed Shaza's parcel inside her gate before leaving. 

Just as he was about to head off, he spotted a monkey coming out from her house and taking away the parcel.

He then took a video of the animal carrying the parcel and sent it to Shaza.

Monkey business

Footage shows the monkey sitting on the rooftop with the parcel before gripping it with its mouth and running away. 

Shaza told AsiaOne that the incident occurred on Saturday around 3pm.

"I was honestly so confused when I found out because I never expected something like this to happen," said the 21-year-old.

"At first I was worried about my parcel, but when the delivery guy sent me the video, I couldn’t help but laugh because it was such a ridiculous situation."

The parcel contained an eyeshadow palette from Cubre Mi. 

Her Threads post has since got more than 10,000 likes and more than 2,800 shares.
