'Mummy, mummy': Unaware his mother had died, Malaysian boy knocks on coffin, searches under it for her

A young boy was filmed knocking on his mother's coffin and calling out for her in a video circulating on social media in Malaysia.

The boy could be heard calling out "Mummy" several times as he circled the coffin.

At one point, he crouched down and looked underneath the coffin, seemingly searching for his mother, before knocking on it as if waiting for a response.

The child appeared unaware that his mother had died.

According to Mingguan Wanita, a Malaysian women's magazine, the boy's mother, Ustazah Azwani Ahmad was a religious teacher in Penang.

Azwani had battled cancer before her death, the publication reported.

Following her death, condolences poured in online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for the child, who had lost his mother at such a young age.
