Only one area in Sarawak recorded "hazardous" Air Pollutant Index (API) reading at 1pm on Thursday (Sept 3), data from the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS) showed.

This is down from the two areas recorded on Wednesday, and six recorded on Tuesday.

Checks by AsiaOne indicate that the "hazardous" reading was again recorded at Serian police district headquarters, which showed a reading of 366.

Meanwhile, four areas — Kuching (282), Samarahan (270), Sarikei (215) and Sri Aman (284) — recorded "very unhealthy" readings.

In Peninsular Malaysia, almost all areas recorded "moderate" readings except Johan Setia in Selangor, which recorded an "unhealthy" reading of 115.

Data from the ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre (ASMC) shows that 795 hotspots were recorded in Kalimantan on Sept 2, down from 943 on Wednesday.
