Mahathir welcomes 4th great-grandchild at 101

Former Malaysian prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has welcomed his fourth great-grandchild after his granddaughter Meera Alyanna Mukhriz gave birth to a baby boy on Aug 16.
Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah was born at 8.48am and weighed 2.9kg, Malaysian news outlet Sinar Harian reported on Monday (Aug 17).
Meera Alyanna, also known as Ally, shared the news on social media on Aug 17, according to the New Straits Times.
Ally wrote on Threads: "Ezran and I are happy to announce the birth of our baby boy, Eden Zakaria Ezran Cheah. Born 16.08.26 at 8.48am at 2.9kg. Thank you everyone for sending the well wishes and we hope to share more soon."
Norzieta, Ally's mother, also took to Instagram to celebrate the arrival of her first grandchild.
"Our hearts are overflowing with love as we proudly welcome our precious grandson into the family," she wrote.
"Welcome to the world, little one! You are already so deeply loved."
The family milestone was also confirmed by Mahathir's daughter, Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, in a Facebook post.
In the post, she congratulated her brother Mukhriz, his wife Norzieta Zakaria, Ally and her husband Ezran Daud Cheah.
"And then there were four! Congratulations to my brother Mukhriz and my sister-in-law Norzieta and my niece Ally and hubby Ezran Daud Cheah for giving Mum and Dad their fourth great-grandchild!!" she wrote.
Ally is the daughter of Mukhriz, who is Mahathir's son and president of Pejuang, a political party in Malaysia founded by Dr Mahathir in 2020.
She married Ezran on Feb 20, 2020.
Ally announced her pregnancy in February after undergoing fertility treatment, including in-vitro fertilisation (IVF), reported the Malay Mail.
The birth was met with well wishes from family, friends and her social media followers.
