Kota Tinggi police chief Superintendent Yusof Othman said officers had ordered the Proton car to stop at Jalan Tun Sri Lanang in Bandar Kota Tinggi.
Instead of complying, two men in the car, aged 33 and 44, drove off and a 50km police chase ensued, Yusof added.
The chase, which started at Jalan Tun Sri Lanang, eventually ended at the 31.5-kilometre mark of Jalan Johor Bahru-Mersing, the police chief stated.
Videos of the incident posted on social media show officers intercepting the vehicle along a stretch of road where there was more traffic.
Officers then moved forward and were seen kicking and hitting the car's windows in an attempt to stop the duo from further endangering the lives of other road users.
They were later wrestled to the ground and arrested.
