Hong Kong actor Simon Lui, known for his roles in horror movies, dies aged 62

Hong Kong media reported today (Sept 11) that his wife, Chinese streaming host Ma Li, confirmed the news.
He reportedly died on Sept 7 in Guangzhou, China, with his wife by his side, after his cancer relapsed a year ago. The funeral will be held privately tomorrow according to his family’s wishes.
Simon, who was known as the King of Ghosts, entered showbiz after joining in TVB's acting class in 1988. He rose to fame in the 1990s after starring in numerous Hong Kong horror films as well as hosting supernatural-themed programmes.
He gained significant attention through the comedy-horror movie Troublesome Night (1997), which became a 20-part franchise of which he acted in 13.

He married Ma Li, who is 21 years younger, in 2012 and they have a son.
He had been lowkey in recent years, living with his family in Guangzhou.
