Sheila Sim has made her runway return, walking in Chanel's Cruise 2026/27 show held in Sydney, Australia this week.

The Singaporean model-actress, 42, wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday (Nov 5): "It's been over 10 years, and I honestly never thought I'd feel that again.

"But the moment I stepped out, something in me came alive. It felt like coming home to a part of myself I'd quietly set aside.

"For so long, I believed I had to choose, mother or model. I could never understand why one had to cancel the other. So being invited back, by a house that sees women in every season of life, means more than I can say."

The mum of two also thanked Chanel, its creative director Matthieu Blazy, as well as its Singapore team who helped with her runway return.

"I feel inspired. I feel like I belong. Deeply grateful," she wrote.

Sheila began her modelling career in 2001. She was scouted at 16 while attending her model aunt Ivy Chng's wedding in Hong Kong.

She later transitioned into acting, appearing in films such as Autumn in March (2009) and Geylang (2022), as well as local TV series including 118 (2014), The Dream Job (2016), Emerald Hill - The Little Nyonya Story (2025) and Keep It Down, which is currently airing on Channel 8.

The model-actress shared more about her experience at the Chanel show on Saturday.

She posted photos taken together with Australian model-actress Gemma Ward, Russian-American model Anne Vyalitsyna, Hong Kong model Christina Chung, as well as Italian model Stephanie Cavalli.

She wrote: "I flew in not knowing a single soul. I left with a group of women who cheered me on as I stepped back onto the runway, and who were still cheering when it all ended.

"Every one of them inspired me in their own way. In an industry where the competition can run high, I felt something different this time: warmth, generosity, support. I think I met some angels.

"Grateful to be reminded that there's room for all of us, and that returning to something you love is so much sweeter with a group of people cheering you on."
