PUBLISHED ONOctober 26, 2026 2:12 PMBYLim KeweiHong Kong opera performer Yemina Yu Chung-yan has tied the knot with former lawmaker Lo Wai Kwok, who is 41 years her senior.
The nuptials took place at a country club on Oct 11, with about 300 friends and family in attendance, Yu and Lo shared in respective social media posts.
The couple's public reveal of their romance in May sparked intense media attention when it was revealed that they first met at a recital when Yu was in primary school, reported The South China Morning Post.
Lo's late wife, Adelina Wong Siu-chun, reportedly introduced them to each other then.
At the reveal, Lo said his friendly and mentoring relationship with Yu was "very pure", adding that they had only confirmed their relationship three weeks before getting engaged.
"Deep down, we may have admired each other, but neither of us realised it or ever expressed it," he was quoted as saying, calling their union "fate".
Lo is also friends with Yu's 63-year-old father, horse racing commentator Yu Pak-lok, according to HK01.
Among the wedding photos shared to Facebook by Yu on Oct 13 was one showing Lo serving tea to his new father-in-law in accordance with Chinese customs.

The newlyweds also thanked members of the public and the media for the blessings and well wishes for their new chapter in life.
Separately, Lo wrote in a post that he drove his treasured Ferrari 348 Spider to pick up Yu: "Coincidentally, my red Ferrari, which I have treasured for many years, arrived in 1994, just like Yemina — what a coincidence!"
Acknowledging that he and his wife "grew up in different eras", Lo promised they will continue to give back to society.
