Katseye postpone Detroit concert less than an hour before showtime, mum of fan says the arena 'full of crying little girls'

PUBLISHED ONBYEsther LamKatseye cancelled their Detroit concert less than an hour before showtime, leaving an arena of fans in tears.
The girl group's four members — Daniela, Lara, Megan and Yoonchae — were set to take the stage at the Little Caesars Arena on Tuesday (Nov 3) night Eastern Standard Time for their Wildworld Tour.
However, less than an hour before showtime, a message on the big screen informed concertgoers that the performance was postponed.
In an Instagram Story shared that same night, the group issued an apology and revealed that 20-year-old Megan had fallen ill.
"Megan is unwell and unable to perform tonight, and we want to make sure she has the time she needs to rest and recover.
"We know so many of you have travelled, made plans and been looking forward to tonight. We are incredibly disappointed that we won't get to see you, and we're truly sorry for the inconvenience," they wrote.
Fans took to social media to express their disappointment, with many in disbelief at the news and demanding refunds.

A video shared on TikTok by concertgoer Jessica Guerrero Canta on Tuesday night shows herself, alongside two young girls who are seen tearing up, at the concert venue. A girl could be heard wailing in the video.
"We're in an arena full of crying little girls because Katseye cancelled on us last minute," she said.
She added that the members, excluding Megan, had appeared for the VIP soundcheck earlier and that she had received news of the cancellation through social media.

Another Instagram post shared by user Nikki Sturgis echoed the same sentiments of disappointment.
She wrote: "Twenty. Minutes. Before. Showtime. That's how much notice we got that Katseye's Detroit concert was cancelled."
She shared that her family was attending the concert as one of her daughter's birthday gifts and that they had spent over US$1,500 (S$1,900) on tickets alone.
"My heart breaks for the hundreds of little girls who spent weeks counting down to tonight. Some were about to experience their very first concert. Instead, they're going home in tears. Including mine."
She added that it was not just about the money. The bigger concern was the management's lack of accountability and the missed experience.
She wrote: "You can't refund a child's excitement, the memories that were supposed to be made, or the heartbreak of watching your little girl realise her special night isn't happening.
"I understand emergencies happen and everyone's health and safety come first. But cancelling 20 minutes before showtime without a clear explanation is unacceptable."
She added: "These weren't just concert tickets. They were birthdays, first concerts and memories these little girls were supposed to cherish forever. My daughter deserved better. All these little girls deserved better."
Katseye will perform at Singapore Indoor Stadium on Feb 10, 2027.
